Introduction:

Mahabodhi Residential School in Tuichawng, run by the Ultimate Truth Preaching Mission, a registered charitable organization, joyously celebrated the arrival of New Year 2024 in a Dharmic and spiritual manner at the Mahabodhi Buddhist Temple in Tuichawng, Mizoram, India.

Event Highlights:

1. New Year's Eve Celebration (31st December 2023):

- Devotees, students, teachers, and villagers came together for a fantastic and spiritually enriched New Year celebration at Mahabodhi Buddhist Temple in Tuichawng village;

- The atmosphere was filled with joy as attendees embraced the spiritual essence of the occasion.

2. Dhamma (Dharma) Gathering (1st January 2024):

- On the first day of the year, a Dhamma Gathering unfolded, bringing together devotees, students, teachers, and village elders.

- The highlight of the gathering was the organized Buddha Puja, a reverential ceremony that marked the beginning of the year with spiritual significance.

- A special program included the presentation of certificates of appreciation to well-wishers of Mahabodhi Residential School, both local and from outside. E-certificates were sent to well-wishers outside via email.

Background of Mahabodhi Residential School:

- Established in 2016 with sponsorship from Mahabodhi Society Bangalore, India, Mahabodhi Residential School operates through contributions from well-wishers. Probini Foundation of New York, U.S.A., started donating from early 2010s.

- The school relies on parental contributions and provides reasonable honorariums to its dedicated teachers who work selflessly for the education of underprivileged Chakma children in Tuichawng and surrounding villages.

- In the academic year 2023-2024, the school has 257 students.

- While the school has made significant strides, continued financial support from well-wishers is crucial for its sustenance and growth.

Call for Support:

- The organization acknowledges the generous contributions received so far and welcomes further financial support from kind-hearted individuals.

- Currently, the school and organization do not have an FCRA account, but steps are being taken to establish one to get help from overseas, like Probini Foundation.

- Meanwhile, well-wishers can contribute to the school's development by sending donations to the provided bank account details.
