RECALLING RECENT MINORITY VICTIMS: 2024

Report from Madaripur, Bangladesh; January 2024

On Monday, January 15, 2024, urgent messages were sent to Bangladesh and to the United States from Nayakandi Village of Kalkini Township No.3 Ward, of Subdistrict (Upajela) of Kalkini, Madaripur District of Bangladesh that an indigenous poor minority Mondol family was attacked disabling the father of the family and destruction of their clothing. Family is terrified. (See below.)

For a poor family paying for medical treatment becomes extremely difficult. Still, Mr. Modal was taken to a hospital in distant Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, where doctors found that both the legs were broken as well as one hand, needing immediate attention.

Hearing this one Hindu monk rushed to help the family, donating tens of thousands of takas, and some clothing. He received some help from the overseas. Monk has to depend on donations from well-wishers to help others. Swamiji handed over aids to the mother of Mondol family. (See below)

“Sri Sri Pranab Mott (Bharat Sevasram Sangha)                                                                                           On behalf of Pathakkandi, Madaripur Branch                                                       Relief is being provided to a helpless person.”

It is heart worming to see that some penniless individuals are coming forward to help the persecuted. Soon, the monk arranged a forum to help the poor and the homeless, especially with winter necessities. It was wonderful to see how many locals in that non-affluent nation came forward to help the monk.

Our best wishes to monk Swamiji and to local helpers and to receiver -- Mrs. Nabila Hussain Didi, a substitute name -- a Muslim mom.

Almost at the same time mails arrived in Bangladesh and in the U.S. from another ashram whom New York’s Probini Foundation helped to build schools. Probini was asked to help a girls’ school in a nearby deltaic island where the local indigenous Hindu minority was slaughtered and dumped into the river in 1971 in the largest delta of the world, during Bangladesh independence struggle. Indigenous minorities were slaughtered by the Army of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and by local xenophobic Islamists. Recently locals held a commemoration at that Doihari island. Here are the names of 59 victims of 136 killed whose body could be traced.

Please visit these beautiful historic places!

Probini Foundation rebuilt the school named Martyr’s Memorial Girls School (Sahid Smriti Balika Bidyaloi) destroyed by a hurricane.

Sadly, not one of the mass murderers was punished by Pakistan, Bangladesh, West or East.

May God Bless the Souls and the Families!
