First Arrival at Home on February 14, 2024, Evening



Introduction: This is a fictionalized non-fiction story of a family who initially grew up in the Bay of Bengal area of Indian Subcontinent, then moving to New York area living for decades, connecting with Apalachee Bay of the Gulf of Mexico, near Tallahassee, Florida, via Huntsville, Alabama and Nashville, Tennessee, both cities near Tennessee River before settling in New York, not far from the Hudson River Bay. The project started over a decade ago, with son Shuvo writing his experience as a young man in 2011-2012 how his life was altered by someone transmitting a virus to an energetic person, with 100% school and college attendance, hurting an innocent life. Only after Corona virus appeared in 2020 some became aware of transmission of deadly virus and its effects.

            The book is 371-page long, with hundreds of colored pictures from the U.S., Indian Subcontinent, and from around-the-world. It is available in paperback and in hardcover.

            On that cold spring with sunshine, the gathering was held with open discussion and chat. The chat was made interesting with a presentation by the first reader of the book, Professor Dr. Alireza Ebrahimi. After introduction of the book discussion started with merger of cultures of the pluralistic United States and diverse India, while highlighting contradictions in open societies. Queensborough County President of New York sent his assistant Mr. Subrato Datta to celebrate the event. Prof. Dr. Kusumita Pederson highlighted several issues brought up through the book of merging of two diverse cultures. Several others joined through brief opinion sharing were Mr. Adhirnatha Keefe, Dr. Shefali S. Dastidar, Mr. Khurshedul Islam, Mr. Dilip Chakravorti, and more. There was a special action from Dr. Sumita Sengupta.

Post-chat food and hot tea was provided by Sumedha with help of her daughter Shriya-Lakshmi.
