Dear
Friends:
Sub: New Endowment for the Poor and the Oppressed
Happy
Durga Puja! Happy Birthday (of my favorite girl)!
You will
be happy to know that we have just established another endowment for the poor
at the Madaripur Ashram, Bangladesh. Monk Swamiji has received the fund just
before the very popular festivity of Mother Durga, the Goddess who killed demon
when men couldn’t do that. As a Mother She carried Her four kids – two girls,
Saraswati and Lakhsmi, and two boys, Ganesh and Kartik with Her, as well as Her
lion pet during Her fight. Now is the time when She visited Her parent’s home.
Following
are donors for this endowment: Mr. Gupta, Mr. DeAngelo, Mr. Bach and Ghosh
Dastidar family. Endowment is Tk ….000,000 taka. Activist Dilip C sent the
donation to Swamiji.
You will
also be happy know that two monks or Swamiji to whom you have donated are
helping the oppressed-on behalf of you. Last week an activist from Bangladesh
called me to inform how a partly destroyed minority village was brought back to
life with Swamiji’s help. The caller and Swamiji do not know each other. In
case you know of anyone who wants to help, kindly let the person know. The
person can send donations directly to the monks or via U.S.
Please
note that all the schools, hostels and orphanage projects of Probini and
Partition Center in Bangladesh from north to south, and from east to west are
fine, including the newly rebuilt destroyed temples. They are fine in India’s
West Bengal, Assam and Mizoram where we (Probini Foundation, and Indian
Subcontinent Partition Documentation Project) have been helping.
If you
have any questions, please give me a call.
Happy
Durga Puja!
