Subject: Ghosh Dastidar / Basu Ray Chaudhuri Family Trees
Dear Sachi,

I don't know if this email address still works for you, but I'm hoping it does!

Like many others who surely contact you, I have soaked in everything you have written online and am so grateful that you took the time to spread your knowledge.

Again, like many others who contact you, I am a distant relative several times over. My mother was born a Ghosh Dastidar (her father was the mathematician / politician Acharya Deba Prasad Ghosh) and I have several Basu Ray Chaudhuri ancestors also - some from Ulpur and some from Sripur etc.

I am trying to put together as fully comprehensive a family tree of the wider Bose / Basu family as I can - at this moment in time such a document linking all the strands doesn't exist, as I'm sure you know.

I was wondering if you could help me with any clear photographs of the book containing the family tree (in English or Bangla - either would be amazing) and I was wondering also if you have any documents relating to the Gava Ghosh-Dastidar Family Tree - they obviously overlap a lot!

I was lucky enough to stumble across some records which specifically detail the names of brides who married into my grandmother’s family along with names of the family daughters (and husbands, where relevant) - I believe this is fairly rare.

Please do get back to me if you have any queries
Many thanks in advance and keep up the great work!
Yours
